OWLS-The Older adult ministry of the United Methodist Temple.

(Older, Wiser, Loving, Seniors) The purpose of this ministry is to share the love of Jesus Christ to those in our congregation and community who are considered "Seniors" (age fifty-five and older). This is done through Christian Fellowship, programming and outings. There are no dues or fees.

Some of the planned activities the group has participated in include; concerts, ballgames, movies, plays, a visit to an assisted living facility, toured The Center for Courageous Kids in Scottsville, trips to Jackson's Orchard etc. We also like to take in a meal together whenever we can before or after an event.

Over one hundred twenty persons from our congregation and community have been involved in these events in the past three and a half years.

Our goal is to meet the needs of our older adults in their affirmations of life in relationship to God, to self, to the Church and their community (ONE ANOTHER).
