An Autobiography by Neil Salveterra
I was born literally at the confluence of the Monongahela and Alleghany Rivers on August 23, 1956. The Ohio River has always been home to me. INWARD
Some of our events are just for us to have fun together. We go places like concerts, movies, ice skating, bowling, go-carts and putt-putt. We may stay at the church and have a party or a game night. Each year we attend NewSong music festival at Camp Loucon where we camp out and hear great bands all weekend. Whatever we are doing, we find a way to make it fun.

The Russellville United Methodist Temple has an active and varied Youth group made up of 6th - 12th graders. Our youth attend schools in Warren County, Logan County and Russellville City and are active in many extracurricular activities, from sports to band to academics.
Our youth program is under the leadership of Rev. Cindy Bright, a veteran of youth work with over 12 years of experience. Cindy comes to us from the Oklahoma Conference where she worked on the conference level as a co-writer for camp curriculum. At the district level, Cindy worked with the District Youth Council and was co-dean of District camp for the past three years. She is completing her Master's degree this semester and is a Probationary Deacon in the United Methodist Church. She has been married to husband, Jeff, for 21 years in June and has two daughters, Sarah who is almost 17 and Rachel who is 13.
We have Junior and Senior High Sunday School classes, Wednesday night Bible Study, Sunday evening meetings and frequent events and trips. Read more about all of these in our Inward, Upward and Outward articles below. Please feel free to join us in any activity for the youth. |
